CONNEAUTVILLE — A Conneautville man riding a snowmobile was killed early Friday morning when he crashed into a truck at an intersection in Crawford County.
Police said Christopher Williams, 24, slammed into the driver’s side of a pickup truck at Palmer and Fisher roads in Beaver Township around 1:08 a.m.
Crawford County Deputy Coroner Scott Shell said road conditions were “extremely icy” when the accident occurred and that Williams was likely driving the snowmobile at a high rate of speed.
Police said the snowmobile had no lights and Williams was not wearing a helmet. Shell said Williams died instantly, suffering multiple blunt force injuries throughout his body.
Wayne Fitzgerald, 26, had stopped his Ford F-150 at a stop sign on Palmer Road and was continuing south when he was hit, police said. He was not injured in the accident.
